Wines with Albariño varieties (Albariño Wines)

It is a native variety of white grape of the appellation of origin Rias Baixas in Galicia. Its origins are unclear but there are several theories about their first appearances following the arrival of the monks of Cluny in the twelfth century Monastery Armenteira (Val Do Salnés) when they began to cultivate this variety for home consumption. Then it spread throughout the region thanks to the cultivation of large families and small winemakers who began planting their own vineyards in the form of the classical vines in the area.

The Albariño comes in small clusters of yellowish-green which is somewhat early ripening. The wines it produces have a straw yellow color generally, with floral and fruity aromas of medium to high intensity and a half-long persistence. In mouth they are really balanced, harmonious and fresh.

The vineyards of this variety can be found in the appellation of origin Rias Baixas, Ribera Sacra and California. There is a very similar variety, which originally was thought that the origins of albariño could put on it, but today, this theory is totally discarded because no genetically agree the Rhine.
