Aalto was born thanks to Mariano García (who was in charge of Vega Sicilia wines for more than 30 years) and Javier Zaccagnini. This winery from the beginning aimed to produce high quality wines that reflect well the diversity and richness of the terroirs of the region, therefore, the varieties come from different towns of the Ribera del Duero, giving the wine a great balance and complexity .

At present, they produce two wines from varieties grown on more than 110 hectares of very old vineyards of Tempranillo or Tinta del País. These are in a total of 200 different farms distributed among the towns of Quintanilla de Arriba, Piñel de Abajo, Roa, La Horra, La Aguilera, Fresnillo, Fuentedelcésped, Moradillo and Baños de Valdearados, in all of them work under the guidelines of the winery so that the vine grows and the grapes develop in the best conditions.

Aalto is an aging wine with 18 excellent months of aging in American and French oak barrels. In the tasting it is very powerful, with intense aromas of ripe fruits and notes of coffee and licorice. On the other hand, Aalto PS, is a wine with 20 months of delicate aging in French oak barrels that give rise to a very elegant and balanced wine, with aromas of spices, graphite, toasted and a few very ripe fruity nuances that do not pass unnoticed.
