Alceño is a historic family winery from Jumilla. Its history dates back to the end of the 19th century, specifically to the year 1870, when it was founded in the center of Jumilla. In fact, it is said to be the oldest winery in the region. Currently, the Alceño winery belongs to the Bastida Family Group, but continues to maintain the same identity and tradition in its wines.

The Bodegas Alceño vineyards are basically made up of Monastrell, Syrah and Garnacha Tintorera. Although wines are also made with some Tempranillo and Sauvignon Blanc. Likewise, in order to obtain the highest quality of the grape and thus the best Jumilla wines, they strive to treat the vine with the best techniques. For this reason, the sustainability of the vineyard and its care is a fundamental pillar in Alceño.

A characteristic of the Bodegas Alceño vineyards is the great difference in altitude. Most of the plots are located in valleys with differences that vary from 950 to 400 meters above sea level. This allows subsequent use of oenological techniques in its production to obtain highly prized Jumilla wines.

The Alceño winery has a capacity of more than 3.5 million liters distributed between concrete, oak and stainless steel tanks. Fermentation and aging are carried out here to achieve sophisticated, balanced and aromatic wines that are a true reflection of the true meaning of the Jumilla region. Therefore, they also use important temperature and humidity controls in order to obtain optimal results.
