Contador is a winery founded by winemaker Benjamín Romeo in 1995 when he acquired caves under the Castillo de San Vicente de la Sonsierra in La Rioja and began producing small-scale wines. Later, at the beginning of the century, it conditioned a garage to expand the production of wine and its quality; It was from then on that Robert Parker got to him to award 100 points to the vintage ones 2004 and 2005 of the wine Contador. In 2008, the new facilities of the current winery were built in an infrastructure of three floors as a terrace next to some rocks that reflects the history, philosophy and values of the winery.
The wines of Contador are distinguished by their high quality, thanks to a meticulous work on the vineyard, the care of the vine, the production of wine in the cellar and its bottling, taking care of the perfection of the design and the elegance of its bottles. The end result is a wide range of wines very well-known throughout the world by critical numbers and specialized wine magazines.
