Bodegas Fuentenarro is a family winery located in the Ribera del Duero denomination of origin since 2002. Exactly it is located in the municipality of La Horra (Burgos) where the family owns own vineyards that have been cultivated and harvested for several generations. They also have an underground wine cellar where all the wines are stored for breeding and resting, as well as an elaboration and bottling area.
The vineyards of the winery are only 10 kilometers from the winery, which guarantees that during the harvest the grapes arrive fresh in the cellar. Its soil is covered with tertiary sediments with layers of silty and clayey sand, with a correct retention of the water that guarantees to maintain the freshness of the grape in hot times.
The only variety that is cultivated is Tempranillo in order to devote all the efforts to the cultivation of this one. These vineyards are located between pine groves and forests at an altitude of about 830 meters above sea level, so it has perfect weather conditions for the good development of the variety.
Its wines, therefore, are made only from the Tempranillo variety under the denomination of origin Ribera del Duero. The winery develops a wide range of wines (Young, Crianza, Reserva ...) of a good quality thanks to their dedication and effort, imitating the forms of elaboration that for decades and even centuries their ancestors did.
