Lagar de Costa wine from a small family winery located in DO Rías Baixas, specifically in Cambados (Pontevedra). Its origins go back more than a century ago when the winery was built in stone and wood that still conserves the current structure.
The winery has a total of six hectares of its own vineyards, where the Albariño variety is grown. Some vineyards have included ages over 50 years. These are at an altitude of between 0 and 30 meters above sea level, located in the intertidal complex of Umia-O Grove, in front of the island of A Toxa.
The plantation is based on the system of conduction and traditional pruning of the trellis, which is totally adapted to the zones and traditional forms of plantation, to the variety, to the climatic and sanitary conditions, and already forms part of the landscape of the different subzones hosted in Rías Baixas. The granite and steel wire posts are at a height of 1.80 cm.
90% of the parcels are located in the parish of Castrelo, located in the Intemareal Complex Umia - O Grove (Natura 2000 Network), in front of the Isla de la Toja, municipality of Cambados, belonging to the sub-area of Salnés (Pontevedra) .
The Salnés region is fully integrated into the Atlantic region. The wines of the D.O. Rías Baixas, are therefore Atlantic wines, with regular temperatures throughout the year of 14o C. With predominant rainfall in autumn and winter and as summer approaches they are decreasing.
