Since the beginning of the last century, the Forner family has been dedicated to the production of wines, in Sagunto (Valencia) they owned a company dedicated to the commercialization of wines that later was paralyzed by the Civil War and had to go into exile in France , where they created another family business in the Rhône and Loire Valley and another in a Chateau de Bordeaux.

In 1968 they returned to Spain with the intention of harvesting the best wines in the world and settled in the Alta Rioja, exactly in the municipality of Cenicero, heart of La Rioja where they began to cultivate their first vineyards following the philosophy of French winemaking (Techniques of cultivation, cold fermentations, selection of grapes ...). This led to the birth of innovative wines for Spain that were improving over the years, to become what they are today.

The name of Marqués de Cáceres is due to the cession by its owner, Mr. Vicente Noguera Espinosa de los Monteros, Marques de Cáceres and Grande de España, a very close friend of the Forner family.

The winery has vineyards in areas of the Alta Rioja and Rioja Alavesa, vineyards with different cultivated varieties (Tempranillo, Graciano, Viura ...) and with different ages and growing conditions, having high altitude vineyards and over 30 years of age.

The philosophy of winemaking perfectly combines the careful family tradition with the latest technological innovations. This gives rise to very elegant and special wines, to which is added an exquisite selection of vines, rigorous elaboration, careful aging ... that make them unique in the world.
