Valduero is a winery located in the municipality of Gumiel del Mercado (Burgos - Spain), in full designation of origin Ribera del Duero. It is a family business with a long history in the production of Ribera del Duero wines, since its foundation dates back to 1984, shortly after the creation of the Regulatory Council.
Its founder, Gregorio García Álvarez, has been aware of the evolution of the wine region and the wineries of the area, betting from the beginning for a high quality vineyard that will favor the growth of authentic vines with the essence of the terroir. Her daughter, Yolanda, agronomist by profession and vocation, continues the same philosophy of the family business, improving the wines vintage after vintage until achieving its authentic roundness.
Bodegas Valduero has 200 hectares of its own vineyard in the vicinity of the winery. The variety they grow is the Tinto fino, which they take care of in order to make it, a noble variety that gives rise to balanced and round wines in their entirety. The form of viticulture is traditional although they dispense fertilizers and chemical fertilizers using natural fertilizers.
Valduero crianza is made with the Tinta Fino variety of vineyards with an average age of 30 years. Once it is fermented, it is aged for 15 months in oak barrels and a minimum of 12 months in the bottle. This process is carried out with delicate and very careful techniques that give rise to a high quality wine.
