Bodegas Crusoe Treasure produces its wines in a very special way, never proven by other wineries: Under the sea. This experiment began in a research project in October 2009, submerging wine from 27 different wineries from 14 denominations of origin in Spain. This project culminated with excellent results so the winery started the production of the Crusoe Treasure wines.
The winery is located 20 meters deep in the Bay of Plentzia (Bizkaia) and from the beginning was designed to welcome marine life in the surroundings: corals and more than 150 marine species that today coexist with the winery.
Crusoe Treasure is a unique submarine wine on the market, made from the best selection of Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano varieties, it is left to rest one year in barrel and another year under the sea, creating a light and very elegant wine different to any other conventional Rioja.
The production of the winery is quite limited and each copy is numbered as high quality wine worth almost collectors. In addition the case where it is sent comes with a book and a tasting sheet where all the conditions of the product are explained in detail.
