El Bierzo wines with the best value for money. El Bierzo is an appella tion of origin since 1989 in the northwest of the province of León (Castilla y León). It is an area that is surrounded by valleys and a flat depression known as "El Bajo Bierzo". The soils of the region stand out for being acids with absence of carbonates on wet brown earth, typical of humid climates.
In El Bierzo there is a mild climate with some humidity, something similar to Galician due to its proximity and being located between valleys, this makes possible a special microclimate whose average maximum temperatures do not exceed 24ºC in the hottest summer months and 2 -3ºC in the coldest months of winter.
The vineyards of the region are of six fundamental types: Mencía, Garnacha Tinta, Godello, Doña Blanca, Palomino and Malvasía, creating all kinds of wines, whether red or white or rosé for example.
