In the heart of El Bierzo is the winery of Losada Wines of Finca facing the Castro de la Ventosa, a unique enclave in the region that served as an element of historical inspiration for the design and project of the building of the winery made by the architect Jesus Manzanares
The vineyards are located on the Losada estate, where the old Mencía vineyards dominate over loamy clay soils at an altitude ranging between 400 and 800 meters above sea level. These varieties are characterized by their low acidity and high sugar content, which gives rise to full-bodied, somewhat fatty wines and velvety sensations on the palate.
Losada wines are clearly committed to the elegance of the modern wines of El Bierzo that seek continuous innovation, for example, the winery has agreements with the main research centers in the area that advise them to continue improving the wines vintage after vintage .
The winemaker of the winery, Amancio Fernández, since 2005 began to develop the wines of this winery achieving great achievements thanks to its philosophy of elaboration of elegant and modern wines.
