Pago Casa del Blanco is a winery located in the municipality of Manzanares (Ciudad Real) in the heart of Castilla La Mancha. Since June 2010 the farm has its own designation as a protected geographical indication "D.O.P. Casa del Blanco" where wines are produced that reflect with value the essence of a land that has been cultivated and cultivated for hundreds of years.
In the 19th century, the rural workers in Manzanares were called Jornaleros, who were and are the ones who carry out all the manual tasks in Agriculture. Wherever the hand of man was necessary to solve any problem of agriculture, there was the laborer. During the approximately two months of harvesting the grape, the day laborer's schedule was from light to light, that is, the work extended from the first light of the morning until the workers themselves stopped seeing the grapes before them. The foragers of the cellars went to the jaraíz at four in the morning, and left their work at approximately ten o'clock at night. Those long days were rewarded with a salary of between 3'50 and 4 pesetas a day. The so-called "Chanador de Chancla" earned 4 pesetas in those days, since his job was to extend the grapes inside the jaraíz so that they reached an approximate height of 40 centimeters, to start a rhythmic dance on the extended grapes, until they were able to extract all the juice from inside.
The Casa del Blanco estate has evolved over many years, although its successive owners, since the acquisition by Blas García de Quesada and Aguilera were by inheritance, over six generations. Finally, the family decided to sell the entire farm, free of charge, to the company called De Juan y Ayala S.R.C. in the mid-1960s. (composed of Juan Ayala-Cueva, Jesús de Juan Díaz de López Díaz and Fernando de Juan Díaz de López Díaz) for 1,600,000 pesetas.
Today this farm has an approximate area of about 2,200 hectares, of which only 150 are from own vineyards where they grow Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Garnacha, Airén, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay in small individual plots to obtain the maximum yields of each strain.
The facilities of the winery cover about 4000 square meters where the entire range of wines produced by the winery is produced, which are worth tasting and tasting to taste the best of the land of Castilla La Mancha.
