La Tinta de Toro is a variety of grape with which very good wines are made. Its origin is in the Zamora region of Toro (Castilla y León). Although, after several genetic studies of the Tinta de Toro grape, it has been concluded that it comes from Tempranillo. That is, it has the same genetic origin. However, it is a very noble grape variety that has evolved differently in this region.
Tinta de Toro wines have a high quality. In fact, most of the production of these wines is supervised by the Toro Regulatory Council. So, these are well-recognized red wines in the sector.
In a Toro wine tasting, Tinta de Toro has well-differentiated qualities. In this way, a very peculiar cherry-garnet color is appreciated. Black fruit and balsamic aromas appear on the nose. And finally, on the palate, they are strong, voluminous wines, dry but pleasant and tasty tannins.
Tinta de Toro wine pairs well with any type of meat. Certainly, its best pairing is in roasts and red meat. Although, it can be easily accompanied with all kinds of vegetables and legumes.
