Bodegas Vivanco is located in the municipality of Briones in the Denomination of Origin of La Rioja, between Sierra Cantabria and the Ebro River. The farm where they live their vineyards is called El Castillo for the type of soil characterized by boulders. There the Tempranillo is cultivated especially but we can also find Graciano, Garnacha, Mazuelo, Viura, Malvasia ...
Dinastia Vivanco was born with the illusion of creating great wines of high quality in Rioja in a very functional underground cellar that favors the ideal temperature conditions for the production of an excellent wine. Its founder, Rafael Vivanco, is a pioneer in the research and experimentation of different forms of cultivation, creating a unique philosophy in the region more and more practiced.
The philosophy of this winery is based fundamentally on respect for the environment and especially the terroir and the landscape that surrounds the estate, where the wines acquire their excellent properties.
The harvest is done by hand in boxes of 10 Kg. With the aim of avoiding breakage and ensuring the integrity of the fruits. The date of harvesting is decided each season depending on the maturation of the grape, so it affects the climate a lot.
The winery is a very functional building that was built underground in order to minimize the environmental impact, favor the temperature conditions for the breeding of wines and eliminate as little of the vineyards as possible.
The wines of Bodegas Vivanco are made with the best grapes of each vintage to produce modern wines with personality. His oenologist, Rafael Vivanco, is an agronomist who has been surrounded by vineyards and wines since he was a child, for which he has inherited an excellent experience in the production of quality wines, authentic and respectful with the environment.
